The "Reforestamos por Naturaleza" campaign offers a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to conservation efforts in Peru by adopting native trees in privately protected areas (PPAs). Each donation is divided, with half allocated to campaign maintenance and tree monitoring, and the other half directly benefiting the conservation area where the tree is planted. Cotton Creations actively supported the campaign in 2021 and 2022, adopting 289 native trees in the Los Abuelos conservation area located in the Pasco region. This area is part of the network for conservation initiatives in Oxapampa and the central rainforest (RIACO). With this support, Los Abuelos has successfully implemented conservation strategies and various activities for financial sustainability, including reforesting over 250 native trees, implementing a camera trap system for biodiversity monitoring, constructing a trout pond with 500 fry trout, and enhancing tourism services such as trail access and wooden interpretative signs.
In 2023, our strategic initiative focuses on the reforestation of 500 native trees within the captivating Valley of the Waterfalls region in Amazonas. This vital undertaking forms an integral part of our comprehensive plan to safeguard significant cloud forest areas and conserve the mesmerizing Yumbilla and Gocta Waterfalls, standing among the world's highest cascades.
